Bass Fishing on Lake Cumberland is red hot, what a great time to be fishing. This will probably be the best spring we have seen in 20 years. Our lake level has risen 9 feet this past week due to the amount of rain, our lake is at 689' and the water temperature is at 51 degrees at the dam The fishermen can find what ever water color they prefer to fish. The best bite is in the back of the creeks and pockets in shallow water. The best lures to use right now are crank baits and jerk baits followed by spinner baits. Some of the best colors in crank baits are red crawfish, chartreuse and blue or brown back in the stained water and shad patterns or white in the clear water. The best spinner bait colors are white with white blades, chartreuse and white with a gold willow and silver colorado blades. Jigs, shakey worms, float n fly, silver buddies are also productive. It is time for the top water action to start, one of the best baits to use is the good ol' fluke in pearl white, but don't forget the spooks and poppers.
